Beauty in the
Disregarded is a theme I have been exploring for a number of years. Found
objects fascinate me - whether second hand (from charity shops and car boot
sales) or literally picked up from the street or beach. I have taken
photographs of many of the curious items I have collected over the past few
years. I am interested in the histories and narratives locked within, the
sense of nostalgia and fondness when looking at them. These things are
the overflow of a society of excess. They have been rejected,
overlooked, discarded
as worthless. Whether from the murky depths of junk store oblivion or from
the gutter of urban climes, I resurrect these items and breathe in
them new life.
